My dear friend Marya Errin Jones owns the Tannex, a multi-use venue that hosts music and fine art shows, videos/films, lectures, and zines that affirm punk, POC, pro-woman, futuristic, LGBTQ, and DIY aesthetics. The Tannex is home to a nationally recognized literary festival, the ABQ Zine Fest, and the Albuquerque Zine Library, which contains more than 500 zines produced locally, nationally, and internationally. ABQ Zine Fest and the Albuquerque Zine Library were both founded by Marya, an incredible actor, writer, musician, and artist. She is a woman of color and the producer and curator at the Tannex. The Tannex fosters, supports, and, most important, showcases diverse artists, philosophers, musicians, dreamers, and doers. Tannex is located in the historic neighborhood of Barelas in Albuquerque.
