I had intended to spend my $10 bill at my neighbor's hat shop where I make an annual purchase. Every weekend throughout the late spring and summer (as long as the sun is shining), he displays his wares in his front yard. He has 1,000s of hats. It’s really quite impressive - bowlers, visors, ironic trucker hats, cowboy hats, fedoras, pith helmets, flat caps... anything you can imagine, he has it.
Seattle has been unseasonably warm, so I figured that I'd have plenty of time to make my purchase before the project deadline. I've walked or driven by to check every Saturday and Sunday for the last few weeks. He still hasn't opened for the season.
This morning I grabbed coffee at Lake Chad Café, which is up the street from my office. Not quite as exciting. I'll get my new hat one of these days!
