I moved to Wilkinsburg in January 2015. The Dream BBQ is on my bike route to work and every morning I would see them prepping the grills. I remember thinking, "WOW! They are hard at work in the dead of winter. That's amazing." I kept mentioning to my friend that we should try it for lunch, so my visit was much anticipated.
I went on a sunny day. There were five people in line ahead of me and it was 2:30pm. As I stood in line my mouth was watering from the delicious smells. The interior design was pared down to inexpensive tables and chairs with plastic table clothes. It reminded me of growing up in a Mexican family and visiting really great taquerias that were set up in small homes. There was no need for expensive interior decor as it was all about the food. I ordered 1/2 slab of ribs, yams and bakes beans. The people working the counter were very friendly and helpful. I took my food to go to share with my girlfriend back home. As I left, I noticed that the sign on the window pane says, "The Dream BBQ," but the text printed on the awning says, "Dreams BBQ."
I brought my food home and it was extraordinary delicious! I documented the interior of the restaurant and my food before I ate it but was unable to document any more because I was took distracted by how delicious it was. I will definitely be returning and in fact, I might be calling up The Dream for some catering in the future.
