It was actually hard to identify a black-owned business in Ann Arbor. The web searches I did brought me to sites that claimed to list black-owned businesses (just a few), but when I went on to research the businesses (particularly restaurants), they may have had a Cajun or BBQ style menu but were not black-owned. I was able to confirm that the owner of Pierre Paul is black through the web site.
Once I made it to the space, I found an inviting gallery with stunning works of art. The staff on the day I went in (Sunday afternoon) was a friendly and courteous white guy around 30 years old. I wanted to buy something I could use, so I browsed handmade cards. I found one I liked and it was just a little over $10.
